CPCWHS1001 – Prepare To Work Safely In The Construction Industry

Overview

This course will provide students with the ability to identify health and safety legislative requirements for construction work, identify construction hazards and risk control measures, identify health and safety communication and reporting processes and identify incident and emergency response. The course content includes:

  • Work Health & Safety Legislative Framework
  • Hazards and Risks
  • Construction Industry Knowledge
  • Accidents and Incidents
  • Site Safety

This unit meets the general construction induction training requirements of:

  • Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;
  • Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and
  • Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.

It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit. Relevant work health and safety state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm jurisdictional requirements.

Entry Requirements

Students must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.

Other Course Requirements

Students will be required to:

  • present photo ID.
  • declare any medical issue that may exclude
    them from full participation.
  • wear PPE and safety footwear.

All training materials are supplied by Career Employment Group Inc.

Course Length

6 hours – training is a combination of theory and practical work.

Course Locations

Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Roxby Downs.

Delivery Modes Available

Full-time attendance at a group delivery in a venue conducted by a facilitator.

  • Full Fee: $155.00
  • CITB Member Fee: $65.00

Additional Information

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with

  • a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.
  • a competency card.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance (www.usi.gov.au).
