Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Horticultural Trainee to work with our valued host employer in the inner south, west, north and central areas of Adelaide.

This is a full time position. As a Trainee you will undertake a Certificate lll Horticulture for 3-4 years, gaining valuable industry skills, growth and development.

Position Information

As a Trainee you will work on a variety of projects and locations and learn from experienced tradesmen. You will need to have a genuine interest in the world of horticulture and be prepared to work on playing fields, parks and gardens. Some duties may include:

• Playing surface mowing.
• Brush cutting.
• Irrigation.
• Drainage works.
• Application Spraying (after suitable training).
• Turf preparation and management.
• General grounds maintenance as part of grounds team.
• Assist with turf maintenance projects and general course preparation.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this traineeship, the following is required:

• A willingness to develop skills and knowledge in this trade.
• Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual labour for extended periods.
• Be a safe confident worker.
• Willingness to travel.
• Enjoy practical and manual work.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• MUST have a car and current Driver’s Licence, due to changing sites.
