Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for multiple Floor Finishing Apprentices to work with our valued Host Employer in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide.

These are full time positions. As a Floor Finishing Apprentice you will undertake a Certificate III in Flooring Technology, this is a 4-year apprenticeship.

Position Information

As a Floor Finishing Apprentice you will install floors or flooring materials in residential or commercial premises. You will use a range of technical knowledge to perform skilled work involving known routines, methods and procedures. You may also:

• Carry out measurements and calculations.
• Receive and prepare flooring materials.
• Read and interpret work documents.
• Establish and maintain safe flooring installation work areas.
• Plan and cost flooring technology work.
• Install soft carpet underlays and grippers.
• Install unpatterned tufted carpet.
• Install carpet on complex stairs.
• Install engineered timber flooring.
• Install mouldings and edge trims to timber flooring.
• Plan and implement maintenance systems for timber, laminate and engineered flooring.
• Install timber flooring materials to stairs.

Position Requirements

To be considered for a Floor Finisher Apprenticeship the following is required:

• A willingness to develop skills and knowledge in this trade.
• Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual labour for extended periods of time.
• Be a safe confident worker.
• Willingness to travel.
• Hold a current White Card (or be willing to obtain prior to starting).
• Enjoy practical and manual work.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively in a team.
• MUST have a car and licence, required due to changing sites.
