Carpentry Apprenticeship
Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Carpentry Apprentice to work with our valued Host Employer in Glynde, Adelaide. This is a full time position.
As part of this position, you will undertake a Certificate III in Carpentry, where you will gain practical knowledge and skills while earning a wage at the same time. You will learn a range of skills working on residential and commercial sites, and undertake cladding and roofing tasks.
Position Information
As a Carpentry Apprentice you will learn to construct, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard. You may also work with materials such as plastic laminates, perspex and metals, and undertake the following tasks:
- Order and select timbers and materials
- Cut joints and materials, as well as assembling cut and shaped parts
- Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards.
- Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
- Construct concrete framework.
- Repair existing fittings.
- Cladding and roofing tasks.
Position Requirements
- Be physically fit.
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Have great work ethic and be punctual.
- Work well both in a team and autonomously.
- Hold a current driver’s licence (preferred).
