Career Employment Group Inc is currently seeking applications for an Individual Support Trainer and Assessor. We have the option of being flexible with the base location with this role, provided there is a commitment to travel to service our clients. Ideally the role would be located in Whyalla, Port Lincoln or Port Augusta. Hours for this role are flexible, and may be negotiated. We are seeking an experienced individual to work a minimum 3 days per week to Train and Assess our students studying Certificate 3 in Individual Support.

This role will involve training delivery both face to face and online.  A core component of the position is to engage with students and inspire them by providing an interactive and knowledgeable training experience.  This opportunity will involve working with trainees and people wanting to obtain employment in the Aged Care and Disability Support Industries.

About the Role

  • Competently deliver face to face training to our students;
  • Utilise our learning management system to assess students and monitor progress;
  • Work autonomously to assess external student competencies;
  • Deliver training and assessment to students in accordance with training legislation;
  • Contextualise training delivery to meet industry practices and provide an engaging learning environment for our students;
  • Meet with employers in the Aged Care and Disability Support industries to provide feedback on trainee progress and discuss training delivery to ensure this aligns to industry expectations.;
  • Complete and submit all required documentation in a timely manner;
  • Ability to deliver training to a diverse cohort of clients;
  • Be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of our valued clients; and
  • Ensure that your qualifications are up to date and participate in relevant professional development activities to enhance both your training/assessment and vocational experience and knowledge;

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support – CHC33015 or its successor (or similar: Certificate III in Aged Care; Certificate III in Disability; or Registered or Enrolled Nursing qualification)
  • Hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or its successor

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, inclusive of drug testing and undergo relevant background screening.
