Dental Assistant
Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Dental Assistant Trainee to work with our valued Host Employer in Whyalla. This is a full time position.
As part of this opportunity, you will undertake a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, where you will work with experienced professionals to learn a range of skills and become a qualified Dental Assistant.
Position Information
As a Dental Assistant trainee, you will learn to prepare patients for dental examinations and assist dental practitioners, hygienists and therapists in providing care and treatment. You may also undertake the following tasks:
- greeting patients and preparing them for treatment
- mixing materials for fillings
- sterilising and preparing instruments
- arranging and handing instruments, medication and dental materials to practitioners
- preparing dental materials and developing X-rays
- using suction devices and water sprays
- performing routine maintenance on equipment
- may advise patients on dental health education and post-operative care
- may act as receptionist for dental practitioners, perform billing and other clerical tasks.
Position Requirements
- Hold a current driver’s licence.
- Have the highest attention to detail.
- Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
- Have strong problem solving skills and be a fast learner.
- Have great work ethic and be punctual.
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
