Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a 2^nd or 3^rd Year Commercial Cookery Apprentice to work with our valued Host Employer, The Highway Hotel, in Plympton, Adelaide.

As an apprentice, you will complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, working under experienced culinary supervisors and gaining valuable industry skills.

Position Information

As a Commercial Cookery apprentice, you will perform a range of specialist cooking roles such as planning and preparing food. You may also undertake the following:

• Prepare dishes using basic methods of cookery.
• Prepare vegetable, fruit, egg and farinaceous dishes.
• Work effectively as a cook in a fast-paced environment.
• Clean kitchen premises and equipment as per WHS regulations.
• Plan and cost basic menus.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this position, the following is required:

• Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Be punctual and have a good work ethic.
• Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
• The ability to handle fast paced services.
