Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Commercial Cookery Apprentice to work with our valued Host Employer, the Terminus Hotel, in Strathalbyn.

This position can be either Part Time or Full Time, and is open to 2nd and 3rd Year Apprentices.

As part of this opportunity, you will complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, working under experienced culinary supervisors to gain valuable industry skills to become a fully qualified cook.

Position Information

As a Commercial Cookery Apprentice, you will learn to perform a range of specialist cooking roles, including planning and preparing food. You may also undertake the following:

• Prepare dishes using basic methods of cookery.
• Prepare vegetable, fruit, egg and farinaceous dishes.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Clean kitchen premises and equipment as per WHS regulations.
• Plan and cost basic menus.

Position Requirements

• Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Be punctual and have a good work ethic.
• Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
• The ability to handle fast paced services.
